Tove Jansson (1914-2001) was born into a family of true artists and learned to draw almost before she learned to walk. In 1918, at the height of civil war, her father wrote home from the front, "Maybe Tove one day will become a real artist. Maybe a really big!" Tove Jansson is beloved worldwide for his books about the Moomins and is known as an illustrator, artist and writer. In addition to her books, she also illustrated, including J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Tuft Jansson has received numerous prestigious awards for his creative work. Right Start has been manufacturing baby products featuring designs from Tove Jansson's Moomin tales since 2002.
